Total Pantry Clean Out 101 For Sellers

Updated: Mar 20

Realtors say kitchens sell. If you are lucky enough to have a pantry then buyer are going to be opening that pantry. Let’s start organizing and cleaning the pantry. As with all organizing task we start by taking everything out of the pantry. Toss out anything that is old and out of date. Remember to go through your spices. They only have about a 2 year shelf life after they are opened. If they look dull and have little scent toss them out. When you replace them add the purchase to the container. If you have duplicates of items you only use occasionally put them in the front and come up with a recipe to use them up. Now that everything is out of the pantry it is time to clean the pantry. Vacuum the walls , floor and shelves. Than wipe down.

Now start to put things back. Group item by:

  • Baking items: sugar, flour, baking soda and powder, cake mixes, brownes etc

  • Rice, pasta, instant potatoes

  • Condiments: ketchup, salad dressing, bbq sauces, mustards etc

  • Snacks : crackers, chips, popcorn, cookies etc

  • Soups, broths and stocks

  • Canned vegetables, canned meats and pasta sauces

  • Cereals

I have added some tips below. Remember that items you purchase go with you when you sell. If you have questions on Preparing your home for sale or any part of the home selling process please, Don’t hesitate to Contact Me!
